Every damn election, it’s the same old speech. They say they’re going to save our tax dollars, make the system work for us. But when does it happen? Never. When are they going to do the right thing for once? Instead, it’s just promises, lies, and more lies. How about this—just do the right thing, or step down and let someone else take the wheel. Someone who actually gives a damn about the people they represent, not just their own pockets.
You work hard. You earn your money, sweat for it, struggle for it. You save a little for the future, for those rainy days we all know are coming. You put it in a savings account—not an income account. But when the government sees that interest, they don’t care if you’ve already paid your dues on the money you put in the account. Nope. They want a piece of it. It’s not enough that you’ve already worked for that money—they want a piece of whatever you might earn off of it. They’re coming after your savings like it’s their damn property.
It’s a slap in the face. The bank pays you a little interest because they’re using your money to make loans, to make themselves richer. And yet, the government comes in and taxes that too. It’s a damn joke. It’s not an income. You’re just trying to save, to put something aside. But to them, your effort to be prepared, to protect yourself—that’s just another opportunity for them to reach into your pockets.
And don’t even get me started on garage sales. here You’ve bought that stuff years ago, you’ve already paid taxes on it when you earned that money. You kept it around, maybe it’s collecting dust. But now, when you sell it, when you try to get a little bit of what you paid for it, the government decides they should get a cut of that too. Double-dipping. It’s like they’re trying to bleed you dry no matter what you do.
You can’t win. Go to work, they take their Economic disparity taxes. Go to the store, you pay taxes. It’s everywhere. They’re not even subtle about it. Take, take, take. And the people who can’t afford it are the ones getting drained the most. Meanwhile, the rich? They’re swimming People's rights in their profits, with loopholes and tax breaks that the rest of us could only dream of.
Who thinks this is fair? Who thinks it’s okay to tax savings, tax used goods, tax your every move? It’s not right. It’s bullshit. And if you don’t see it, then you’re either blind or too comfortable in the system to care.
This system isn’t working for the people. It’s rigged. And we all know it. They’ve got their hands deep in our pockets, and it’s time for that to stop. The government doesn’t need more of the poor’s money. Hell, they need to get their hands out of our damn pockets and stop pretending like they’re doing us a favor.
It’s bullshit. Call it what it is. Let’s stop pretending everything is fine. It’s not. Not when they keep stealing from us at every turn.
